Muan County Council, 2023 Fiscal Year Settlement Inspection Committee Appointment Ceremony

Six Settlement Audit Committee Members Conduct Comprehensive Audit Over 20 Days

The Muan County Council of Jeollanam-do (Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun) announced on the morning of the 12th that it held the appointment ceremony for the 2023 fiscal year settlement inspection committee members and presented appointment letters to the members.

The settlement inspection committee consists of a total of six members, including councilors Park Ssang-bae and Jeong Eun-gyeong, one tax accountant, two former public officials, and one resident representative. From the 12th until the 1st of next month, a total of 20 days, inspections will be conducted at the settlement inspection office set up in the Muan County Council's small conference room. The inspection will cover the overall settlement of the 2023 fiscal year revenue and expenditure budget execution, carryover project expenses, subsidies, funds, bonds, and more, after which an inspection report will be submitted.

In particular, starting this year, the number of settlement inspection committee members has been expanded through the revision of the "Ordinance on the Appointment and Operation of Muan County Settlement Inspection Committee," so it is expected that a thorough and strict settlement inspection will be conducted with secured expertise and transparency.

Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun said at the appointment ceremony, "I hope that the settlement inspection committee members will carefully review whether there were any violations of related regulations or cases of budget waste during the budget execution process based on your expertise and experience," and added, "Please play an important role so that the results of this settlement inspection can serve as the foundation for sound financial management of our county."

Meanwhile, the settlement details of the 2023 fiscal year, after the settlement inspection is completed, will be approved at the 1st regular meeting of the Muan County Council to be held in June and then disclosed to the residents.
