The Diabetes Center (Metabolic Syndrome Management Center) at Gimhae City Public Health Center in Gyeongnam opened on the 11th.
The center was established on the west side of the 2nd floor of Gimhae City Public Health Center with a donation from the International Lions Club District 355-C (Central Gyeongnam).

Going forward, to reduce the mortality rate of citizens caused by cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, the center will provide various health promotion programs such as hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia testing and education, nutrition and exercise counseling, smoking cessation clinics, and cooking practice for dietary improvement, and will focus on the prevention and intensive management of metabolic syndrome.
About 100 people attended the opening ceremony, including Mayor Hong Taeyong, city council members, Lions Club members including District Governor Kim Yanggeun of International Lions District 355-C, related organizations, and local hospital and clinic officials.
Mayor Hong expressed gratitude to Governor Kim for his contribution to the establishment of the center and presented him with a plaque of appreciation.

Governor Park Wansu sent a congratulatory message, wishing that this would be an opportunity to further strengthen the health promotion of the province's residents.
Health Center Director Heo Mok said, “Hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia are diseases that can be prevented and managed through a balanced diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, and abstaining from alcohol,” adding, “We will ensure that many citizens can lead healthier lives at the center.”
