AXA Insurance announced on the 11th that Thomas Buberl, CEO of AXA Group, visited Korea on the 9th to communicate with AXA Insurance employees and had a meeting with Kim Ju-hyun, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission.
This visit by CEO Thomas Buberl was arranged to commend the efforts of AXA Insurance employees who have flexibly responded to difficult situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic and to highlight the importance of the Korean insurance market, which has growth potential. This is his first visit to Korea since his official appointment.
On the 9th, Thomas Buberl visited AXA Insurance’s long-term telemarketing (TM) center and headquarters located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to encourage employees. He then emphasized AXA Insurance’s growth-focused '2030 Strategy' aimed at expanding the health insurance portfolio based on expertise in automobile insurance.
Later, at a town hall meeting held at the headquarters, he shared the three-year (2024?2026) business strategy, ‘Unlock the future.’ Through this, he presented three core plans: ‘driving organic growth,’ ‘expanding technical and operational excellence,’ and ‘enhancing AXA’s social role.’
He also had a discussion with Kim Ju-hyun, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission. At this meeting, they exchanged views on the rapidly changing financial environment and the advancement of the Asian insurance industry, and discussed the responsibilities and future development directions of global financial companies operating in Korea, including carbon neutrality policies and climate change response.
CEO Thomas Buberl said, “After years of transformation, AXA has established its unique position and is ready to seize new opportunities,” adding, “With an ambitious diversification strategy, strong determination, and outstanding expertise, we will play a crucial role in achieving our goals.”
