Used in the inland underground power grid connecting to the North Sea offshore wind farm complex
LS Eco Energy recently announced on the 11th that it supplied ultra-high voltage cables to Denmark.
The 220kV underground cables are worth $13 million (approximately 17.6 billion KRW). They will be used to establish an inland power grid connecting to the North Sea 'Thor Offshore Wind Farm.' The Thor Offshore Wind Farm, the largest in Denmark with a capacity of 1GW, is being constructed 22 km from the port in the North Sea. It is scheduled for completion in 2027 and is expected to supply electricity to about 10 million households.
LS Eco Energy began exporting cables to Denmark in 2017 and, together with LS Cable & System, has established itself as the number one supplier in the Danish ultra-high voltage cable market.
The company stated, "Supplying ultra-high voltage cables to Europe, considered the home of cables, demonstrates our recognized technological capabilities."
LS Eco Energy was established by LS Cable & System in 1996 to enter the Vietnamese domestic market. Currently, exports to Europe and North America account for 30% of its sales, making it a major export company in Vietnam.
Lee Sang-ho, CEO of LS Eco Energy, said, "Worldwide, demand for cables is rapidly increasing due to the construction of offshore wind farms, replacement of aging power grids, and data center construction. We will improve profitability by expanding exports of ultra-high voltage cables, which are high value-added products."
