NHN Waplat and DeepMedi Join Forces to Promote Digital Elderly Care Platform

NHN announced on the 11th that its senior care specialized subsidiary Waplet and digital healthcare company Deepmedi have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote a digital elderly care platform.

This agreement was made to digitalize the elderly care sector amid the recent rise in elderly households and the shortage of care workers, which have become significant social issues.

Waplet's self-developed mobile application-based 'Waplet Public' consists of medication reminders, cardiovascular checks, and MemoryKkokkok services for senior health management, as well as games to improve leisure activities. It also includes services such as radio, fortune-telling, schedule management, and emergency alert services for automatic wellbeing checks.

Through this partnership, Deepmedi's latest smart healthcare technology will be integrated into Waplet Public. Deepmedi is a digital healthcare specialist company that has obtained medical device approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, possessing technology that enables health measurements such as cardiovascular checks using only a smartphone camera and fingerprint recognition without separate equipment or hospital visits.

By incorporating Deepmedi's solution, Waplet Public plans to support seniors in measuring heart rate, irregular heartbeat, stress index, fatigue, and more through facial recognition and finger touch alone. In particular, it is expected to contribute to rapid emergency response and improved work efficiency by providing highly accurate measurement results based on artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, as well as delivering analysis reports to care workers.

Meanwhile, Waplet is currently actively expanding Waplet Public to local governments through proactive public-private cooperation.
