Various Stage Performances and Experience Programs with the Theme of Spring and Reading Offered
On the 13th, Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) will hold the 6th Gyeomjae Book Street Festival, enjoying the pleasure of reading along with the warm spring weather.
The Gyeomjae Book Street Festival is a book festival that reflects Jungnang-gu’s characteristic emphasis on the importance of reading.
This year, under the theme "Spring Blossoms, Jungnang Opens Books," the festival will take place along the Jungnangcheon riverside near Gyeomjae Small Library and Gyeomjae Bridge from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 13.
Various local participants including public libraries, private small libraries, Saemaeul Libraries, school libraries, and village community book centers will join together to enrich the festival.
First, stage events enjoyable for all ages from children to adults will be prepared. These include ▲ the magic show "Magic Garden," based on books about environmental protection ▲ the children’s musical "Escape from Crisis! The Three Squirrel Siblings," teaching family love and how to handle child crime ▲ and the author lecture by Kim Min-seop titled "I Hope You Succeed," discussing kindness among people, all open for anyone to watch.
Also, the "2113 Book Exchange" will be held, where attendees can exchange two used books they no longer read for one new book. Up to three books can be exchanged per person.
Additionally, various experience booths themed around "spring" and "reading" will add more fun. A total of 20 programs are prepared, including ▲ making flower bookmarks filled with spring ▲ creating your own pop-up book ▲ making spring postcards ▲ and producing book stamps.
Throughout the venue, a book camping space designed with a camping site concept will offer activities such as reading and playing with soap bubbles. Photo zones set up in the rose garden and gateball field provide another enjoyable way to create memories.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said, "I hope the Gyeomjae Book Street Festival, set against the fully blossoming Jungnangcheon, will be a happy time for families, friends, and neighbors to enjoy the pleasure of reading together," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create a culture where more residents can experience the joy and delight of reading."
