Kim Tae-ho, a candidate from the People Power Party, was elected in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, the most contested area in the Nakdong River belt.
According to the National Election Commission, in the 22nd National Assembly election held on the 10th, Kim Tae-ho defeated Kim Du-gwan of the Democratic Party of Korea and won a seat in the National Assembly.
Both candidates, former governors of Gyeongnam Province, engaged in a fierce close race throughout the vote count, but at around 1:54 a.m. on the 11th, with 99.98% of the votes counted, Kim Tae-ho secured victory by a margin of 2,083 votes.
At the same time, the vote percentages were 51.04% for Kim Tae-ho and 48.95% for Kim Du-gwan.
