LG Electronics Ranks 2nd in Sales
Also Secures 1st Place in Brand Preference
Samsung Electronics ranked first in market share in the United States, the world's largest home appliance market, last year. LG Electronics followed in second place.
According to market research firm Trackline on the 10th, Samsung Electronics recorded a 21% market share in sales in the U.S. home appliance market in 2023. LG Electronics (19%), GE (18%), and Whirlpool (15%) followed in order. Combined, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics account for 40%.
In terms of quantity-based market share, Samsung Electronics was also first with 19%. GE had 17%, LG Electronics 16%, and Whirlpool 16% followed.
When consumers consider brands when purchasing home appliances, Samsung Electronics was the most preferred at 32%. LG Electronics had 29%, while GE and Whirlpool each had 28%.
Samsung Electronics is accelerating the expansion of its market share in the U.S. home appliance market with new products and services that enhance AI-based connectivity and usability. The 2024 Bespoke new products feature high-performance AI chips, cameras, and sensors to offer a wider range of AI functions. Outdoor advertisements are also being displayed at New York Times Square, a representative landmark of the U.S., including the 'Bespoke AI Family Hub' refrigerator's 'AI Vision Inside' feature.
