The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed President Putin's plan to visit China this year while commenting on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's official visit to China.

Regarding Minister Lavrov's meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "President Xi welcomed Minister Lavrov's visit to China as an important step in comprehensive preparations for President Putin's state visit to China this year."
