Gwangyang City, Free Suit Rental Receives 'Great Response'

Wearing Rental Suits for Interviews, Popular Among Youth

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that the 「Youth Inspiring Wings」 program, which provides free rental of suits and accessories to alleviate the economic burden on young people and support new challenges such as job hunting, is receiving great responses.

According to the city, since the launch of the 「Youth Inspiring Wings」 program on February 1, about 20 young people have been using the service every month, and the response has been very positive.

The ‘Youth Inspiring Wings’ program is available to any young person aged 18 to 45 residing in the region. The rental procedure requires prior registration on the Gwangyang Youth Dream Center website, and then visiting the center with an ID and deposit.

The operating hours are from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM on weekdays, and the service is not available on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays. Rental items include ▲for men: jackets, pants, shirts, belts, and neckties, and ▲for women: jackets, skirts, pants, and blouses, all available in various sizes.

A young person who rented a suit said, “I felt a great burden buying a suit for a one-time event like an interview, so it was good to save costs,” and added, “I was grateful that accessories such as shirts and neckties could also be rented, showing thoughtful consideration for young people.”

A city official stated, “We made efforts to provide higher quality suits by analyzing cases from neighboring local governments,” and added, “We will continue to carefully reflect the opinions of young people and actively support their new challenges.” The official also expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank the Population Policy Citizen Participation Group for proposing the youth suit rental policy.”
