POSCO Future M Donates Wheelchair Lift Vehicles to Welfare Facilities for the Disabled

Promotion of Wheelchair Ramp Installation Project

POSCO Future M announced on the 9th that it donated wheelchair lift vehicles to welfare facilities for the disabled in the Pohang and Gwangyang areas.

A wheelchair lift vehicle refers to a vehicle designed to easily load and unload wheelchairs using an automatic door and rails installed inside. POSCO Future M delivered one of these vehicles each to welfare facilities for the disabled in Pohang and Gwangyang on the 13th of last month and the 8th of this month, respectively.

POSCO Future M stated, "Until now, these welfare facilities for the disabled in the region did not have such vehicles, causing inconvenience for the disabled in mobility," adding, "The vehicles will be very useful for transportation to school, hospital visits, hairdressing, and cultural activities for the disabled and elderly."

On the 13th of last month, representatives from POSCO Future M and welfare facility officials donated a wheelchair lift vehicle to a welfare facility for the disabled in Pohang, Gyeongbuk, to support the daily convenience of vulnerable groups, and are taking a commemorative photo in front of the vehicle.

POSCO Future M is also promoting a project to install ramps on speed bumps and stairs that restrict wheelchair movement within urban areas. By identifying routes frequently used by welfare facilities for the disabled and disabled individuals in Pohang and Gwangyang, the company plans to complete the installation of ramps at approximately 60 locations by the second half of this year.

Lee Tae-hee, Head of the Corporate Citizenship Office at POSCO Future M, said, "We hope that wheelchair lift vehicles and ramps will enable disabled and elderly people with mobility difficulties to go out more comfortably," and added, "POSCO Future M will continue to actively carry out social contribution activities for marginalized neighbors."

POSCO Future M operates a 'Food Charging Station' near its Gwangyang and Sejong plants, providing daily necessities and food supplies to elderly living alone and basic livelihood security recipients. It is also actively engaged in social contribution activities for vulnerable groups, such as running the 'Didim Seed Bank' to support youth living stability funds in Pohang, Gwangyang, Gumi, and Sejong areas.
