Completed in 3 hours, widely promoting the university
Shim Min-jun, Manager, and Kang Kyung-min, Assistant Manager, staff members of Gyeongnam National University, recently successfully completed the full course of the '2024 Seoul Dong-A Marathon,' hosted by Dong-A Ilbo and the Korea Athletics Federation.
The race covered the full marathon distance of 42.195 km, starting from Gwanghwamun Square, passing through Sungnyemun and Seoul Forest, and finishing at Jamsil Sports Complex.
Marathon is one of the representative track and field events that require strong physical endurance and a spirit of challenge to complete. Especially for the full marathon course, regular training and determination are essential to finish.
In this event, Manager Shim from the Policy Planning Team and Assistant Manager Kang from the Public Relations Office completed the full marathon in the 3-hour range, widely demonstrating the high spirit and strong will of the university’s symbol, ‘Hanma (汗馬).’
Notably, they promoted the university by attaching Gyeongnam National University stickers to their bibs and had the opportunity to meet proud Hanma members participating in the race, including Kim Chang-won (Hyundai Wia), a naturalized marathoner from Burundi, Africa, who represents Gyeongnam National University, and alumnus Jeong Jeong-do.
