Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, Participates in Wildfire Prevention Campaign "We Must Raise Awareness of Wildfire Risks"

On the afternoon of the 8th, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, held a wildfire prevention campaign at Wau Neighborhood Park in Changjeon-dong, Mapo-gu, welcoming the spring season when the risk of wildfires increases.

About 200 people, including Mapo-gu employees and members of professional organizations, participated in the campaign to promote proper forest use and wildfire prevention guidelines.

On this day, Mayor Park Gang-su presented appointment letters to honorary wildfire monitors and distributed leaflets to visitors of Wausan, containing information prohibiting burning activities near forests, urging wildfire prevention.

Before the event, Mayor Park Gang-su said in his greeting, "Like all disasters, prevention is the top priority for wildfires as well," adding, "We ask for your great interest and participation in wildfire prevention so that we do not lose our beautiful mountains and rivers due to a momentary mistake."

Mapo-gu established a Wildfire Prevention Countermeasures Headquarters on February 1 and plans to maintain the wildfire prevention system until May 15, making every effort to prevent wildfires.
