At around 8:04 PM on the 8th, a fatal accident occurred on the tracks at KTX Daejeon Station, causing delays in the operation of some trains.
According to the fire department and others, a man in his 20s illegally entered the upbound tracks at KTX Daejeon Station and was struck by the KTX218 train heading to Seoul.
The man was confirmed to be in cardiac arrest and is being transported to the hospital while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
As accident recovery work is underway, some KTX trains are experiencing delays.
A Korea Railroad Corporation official stated, "Due to the accident on the upbound tracks, trains in both directions are temporarily operating on a single downbound track," adding, "Train operations on both upbound and downbound tracks are expected to resume normally once the measures are completed."
