Busan Port Authority, '8,200 Steps a Day' Walking Challenge Finale

28-Day Employee Health Promotion Challenge

91 Teams Participated, 68 Teams Achieved Their Goals

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) announced on the 8th that it successfully concluded the walking challenge “Sseurigo” (Walk, Stay Healthy, and Receive Gifts!), aimed at promoting the health of BPA and its partner company employees.

The walking challenge “Sseurigo,” organized by BPA’s Disaster Safety Office, was an event where BPA and partner company employees formed teams of two and challenged themselves to walk an average of 8,200 steps per day for 28 days. A total of 91 teams participated, with 68 teams achieving the goal.

The event included participation from the Busan Port Facility Management Center, Busan New Port Facility Management Center, Busan Port Security Corporation, Busan Marina, and workers from partner companies of each institution.

To promote the benefits of walking exercise, BPA invited professional instructors from the Busan Metropolitan City Walking Association to provide education on proper walking methods, and held a surprise event at the waterfront park in the North Port redevelopment area using BPA’s official mascots “Haebeom-i” and “Ppupu” to promote healthy lifestyle habits to the general public.

Um Ki-yong, head of BPA’s Disaster Safety Office, said, “Ordinary walking exercise in daily life greatly helps in leading a healthy life,” and added, “Starting with this successful walking challenge, we will continuously promote health improvement activities that include not only BPA but also partner company workers.”
