Long Gimbap Making Performance Demonstration
Held from the 12th to 14th at Donguibogam Village Area
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 8th that it plans to showcase a long gimbap-making performance as one of the unit events of the '2024 Sancheong Agricultural Specialty Products Grand Festival.'
This performance is scheduled to be held twice a day from the 12th to the 14th at the lawn plaza of Donguibogam Village, where members of the Eup-Myeon Life Improvement Association will participate. In particular, visitors will have the opportunity to experience making herbal gimbap.
A medicinal herb kimbap making performance is being held at the Sancheong Agricultural Specialties Grand Festival.
Accordingly, before the grand festival performance and gimbap-making experience, the Life Improvement Association members conducted a demonstration event and training. The training, attended by 22 members, included the dissemination of cooking techniques for making herbal gimbap filled with the scent of spring and an introduction to the Agricultural Specialty Products Grand Festival.
First, Byun Do-hee was invited as an instructor to conduct education on making gimbap using herbs cultivated locally, such as Bangpungnamul (Ledebouriella seseloides). Additionally, the training covered making gimbap using vegetables pickled in vinegar instead of pickled radish, and cooking methods that allow making gimbap without using a knife.
In particular, a preliminary inspection was conducted for the long gimbap performance, which will be held twice a day. The long gimbap is planned to be made with pickled ginger, gardenia, and eel.
An official from the county stated, “Many programs will be operated at the Agricultural Specialty Products Grand Festival, which is being held in Sancheong for the first time. We hope for active participation and interest, including making herbal gimbap and watching the long gimbap performance.”
