The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (Seoul Philharmonic) announced on the 8th that it will present the kids concert "Classical Music Journey" in collaboration with major performance venues in Seoul on the 12th and 13th.
On the 12th, the concert will be held at 7 PM at LG Arts Center Seoul, and on the 13th, at 5 PM at Gangdong Arts Center.
The kids concert is a performance where children can listen to classical masterpieces with their parents and learn proper concert etiquette. The performance is set against the backdrop of four major cities in the world (Vienna, Austria; Paris, France; Saint Petersburg, Russia; New York, USA) and follows protagonists who are attending an orchestra concert for the first time and accidentally meet the genius composer Mozart, embarking on a time travel journey together. They travel around the world, meet great composers, and enjoy the works left by these composers performed by the Seoul Philharmonic.
This performance features a variety of masterpieces by great composers, including Mozart's "Divertimento" and the overture to the opera "The Marriage of Figaro," Saint-Sa?ns' "Carnival of the Animals" selections "Introduction and Royal March of the Lion" and "The Swan," Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" suite selections "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy," "March," and "Trepak," Gershwin's "An American in Paris," and a medley from Bernstein's musical "West Side Story."
The concert will be conducted by David Lee, the associate conductor of the Seoul Philharmonic.
Tickets are available at LG Arts Center Seoul and Gangdong Arts Center.
The Seoul Philharmonic will also present two kids concerts on October 9th at Lotte Concert Hall at 1 PM and 5 PM. The Seoul Philharmonic stated that it plans to offer classical music concerts that combine educational and artistic elements in diverse ways so that citizens can experience classical music in a friendly and enjoyable manner.
