[Featured Stock] JNTC Secures Hundreds of Trillions Glass Substrate Market... Demo Line to be Established in August

JNTC is showing strong performance. The news that it is entering the glass substrate market, which is expected to be worth hundreds of trillions of won, appears to be influencing its stock price.

At 10:34 AM on the 8th, JNTC was trading at 21,200 won, up 23.98% compared to the previous trading day.

JNTC, which manufactures cover glass and supplies it to Samsung Electronics, Huawei, and others, plans to invest with the goal of mass-producing glass substrates by 2027.

Jang Sang-wook, chairman of JNTC, recently stated in an interview with a media outlet, "We expect to be able to mass-produce glass substrates by 2027," adding, "We will now become a glass-specialized company, not just a cover glass company." He also said, "The glass substrate market is just beginning to grow significantly and has great growth potential," and predicted, "The global market size will reach hundreds of trillions of won."

JNTC has established plans for sample production and factory construction. Chairman Jang said, "We plan to create a demo line for glass substrate production by August," and added, "Once samples are produced, we will discuss with customers to determine the scale of facility investment." He further stated, "By the end of this year, we plan to start construction of the 5th factory in Vietnam for mass production of glass substrates."

Lee Kyu-ha, a researcher at NH Investment & Securities, explained, "Corning, Schott, and Asahi Glass supply glass blanks to glass processing companies like JNTC," and continued, "Afterwards, JNTC proceeds with the process by receiving TGV equipment and etching equipment from Philoptics and Chemtronics, respectively." He added, "After inspection, the glass substrates are supplied to substrate companies such as Samsung Electro-Mechanics, SKC, and LG Innotek," and noted, "The substrate companies use inspection equipment from companies like YAS for glass substrate inspection, complete the remaining substrate processes, and then supply to semiconductor companies such as Intel, AMD, Amazon, Apple, and Samsung Electronics."
