Handonghun Appeals for Support While Touring Gyeonggi and Incheon

Two days before the main voting day of the 22nd National Assembly general election, the People Power Party and the Democratic Party of Korea focused their campaigns on the Seoul metropolitan area, the most fiercely contested region. Han Dong-hoon, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, campaigned in Gyeonggi and Incheon, while Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, held rallies in the battleground districts of Seoul.
Chairman Han started the day by visiting Gwangju in Gyeonggi Province in the morning, followed by Icheon and Anseong. From the afternoon, he visited Osan, Yongin, Suwon, and Seongnam in Gyeonggi, then moved on to Yeonsu and Gyeyang in Incheon. He plans to conclude his campaign in Gimpo and Goyang, where Seoul annexation policies are being considered.
Among the Seoul metropolitan areas, Chairman Han has concentrated his efforts on campaigning in Suwon. Including today's rally, he has visited Suwon in Gyeonggi about eight times over the past month (twice in Suwon Gap, once in Eul, once in Byeong, twice in Jeong, and twice in Mu). The People Power Party is focusing its firepower on Kim Jun-hyeok, the Democratic Party candidate running in Suwon Jeong. Kim, who caused controversy with his remarks about "female college students providing sexual favors to U.S. troops," is again embroiled in controversy after it was revealed that he authored writings claiming that the roots of the "Korea Kindergarten Association" are pro-Japanese collaborators.

On the same day, the People Power Party appealed once again to conservative supporters to "defend the constitutional amendment blockade line." Yoon Jae-ok, the floor leader, said at the Central Election Countermeasures Committee meeting held at the Yeouido Central Party Office, "Please at least leave the presidential veto power that can block constitutional amendments, impeachment, and the opposition party's parliamentary dictatorship," and urged, "Please maintain the minimum number of seats to stop the opposition party's reckless actions."
Meanwhile, Leader Lee toured Seoul and Incheon to capture last-minute votes. He began his campaign with a morning greeting in his own constituency. He then held rallies in Dongjak-eul, Jung, Seongdong-eul, and other districts in Seoul. Afterward, he appealed for support in Yeongdeungpo-eul, Dongdaemun-gap, Jongno, Seodaemun-gap, and Yangcheon-gap, before moving to Dong and Michuhol districts in Incheon.

Leader Lee visited Dongjak-eul, where Democratic Party candidate Ryu Sam-young is running, six times. On the same day, he appealed on his social media accounts for people to participate in voting, mentioning Dongjak-eul as well as Yongsan, Gangnam-eul, Seocho-eul, and Gwangjin-eul. He said, "Now it is a close battle," and urged, "Judgment is made not by polls but by voting. Please encourage all your family, relatives, friends, and acquaintances to vote."
The Democratic Party also emphasized the "regime judgment theory" on the day, interpreted as an effort to rally progressive supporters. At the Central Election Countermeasures Committee meeting held at the Yeouido Central Party Office in the morning, Leader Lee said, "They are not taking responsibility for their incompetence, irresponsibility, and lack of measures. I earnestly ask the sovereign people to hold them accountable decisively."
