Total Project Cost Approximately 675 Billion KRW Invested
The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 7th that it will develop the Anseong Dongsin General Industrial Complex to foster the semiconductor industry by leveraging the experience of industrial complex management institutions.
The Anseong Dongsin General Industrial Complex was designated in July last year to support the semiconductor industry in the southern Gyeonggi region and was selected as a ‘Specialized Complex for Semiconductor Materials, Parts, and Equipment (SoBuJang)’. The Specialized Complex for Semiconductor SoBuJang can receive government support benefits such as industrial infrastructure for production activity support and joint research and development infrastructure.
The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation plans to invest approximately 675 billion KRW to develop an industrial complex of about 1.57 million square meters in Dongsin-ri, Bogae-myeon, Anseong City, aiming for completion by 2030.
The Dongsin General Industrial Complex will apply three concepts?‘Customized Growth, Customized Mobility, Customized Space’?with the vision of ‘Creating a Future Innovation Complex for the Materials, Parts, and Equipment Industry.’
To support ‘Customized Growth’ as a supply hub for materials, parts, and equipment for semiconductor production, research facility sites will be provided, and the complex will be developed as a self-sufficient energy industrial complex to prepare for large-scale power demand.
Additionally, to provide ‘Customized Mobility,’ the industrial complex’s access road is planned to be connected to the Anseong Matchum IC (tentative name) on the Second Gyeongbu Expressway, scheduled to open in 2024, facilitating easy access for semiconductor-related companies located in Yongin and Pyeongtaek.
The industrial complex will be designed as a ‘Customized Space’ where youth influx and culture coexist. Plans include supplying mixed-use cultural spaces, sports facilities, worker convenience facilities, and residential sites with easy commuting.
Lee Sang-hoon, President of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, said, “We will plan the Dongsin General Industrial Complex to harmoniously integrate youth, culture, and R&D capabilities, developing it into an industrial complex that plays a key role in the semiconductor cluster.”
