Changes Company Name to 'SK Leaveo'

EcoVance, an investment company in SKC's biodegradable materials business, has changed its name to 'SK leaveo' and is embarking on full-scale commercialization.
SK leaveo announced on the 7th that it held a board meeting on the 5th and approved the agenda for the name change. The new name embodies the core value of the biodegradable materials business model (BM), meaning "decomposes in nature leaving nothing behind (leave zero)." SK leaveo also unveiled a new slogan linked to the new name, "We leave zero," on the same day.
SK leaveo plans to begin construction this year on a PBAT (Polybutylene Adipate Terephthalate) production plant in Haiphong City, Vietnam, with an annual capacity of 70,000 tons, making it the world's largest single factory of its kind. Haiphong is Vietnam's leading port city and a key industrial hub, equipped with excellent logistics infrastructure. Additionally, it can achieve 'RE100' by sourcing all necessary power from renewable energy, ensuring eco-friendliness from the production process onward.
To expand the applications of PBAT, SKC has significantly enhanced its strength to the level of conventional plastics by reinforcing it with nanocellulose extracted from wood. As a result, it can be used in various applications such as agricultural and packaging films, various consumer goods containers, as well as hygiene products like diapers and sanitary pads, and nonwoven fabrics used in filters.
SK TVM GOSTONE, an investment company in SKC's biodegradable LIMEX material business, will also establish its production facilities in Haiphong. Biodegradable LIMEX is an eco-friendly new material made by mixing PBAT, a biodegradable resin, with limestone, a natural mineral, instead of conventional plastics. With Vietnam's abundant limestone reserves and synergy with SK leaveo producing PBAT, it is expected to secure excellent quality and price competitiveness.
An SK leaveo official said, "The new name clearly reflects the meaning and vision of the biodegradable materials business," adding, "We will expand our eco-friendly business by mass-producing high value-added material products that can be used in various applications."
