Community Economy Career Education for 7 Local Middle Schools Conducted Over 3 Months Starting April
Learn Through Online Startup Simulations Focused on Social Values

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will operate the "Geumcheon Community Economy Career Education Visiting Schools" program for students of seven middle schools in the area from April to July, a period of three months.

The program is promoted to help students learn about an economic system oriented toward sharing and cooperation, understand the meaning of economic activities that pursue social value, and grow into healthy members of society.

In March, the district received applications from schools wishing to participate and recruited seven schools. Each school will have one class (20 students), totaling 140 students, and each school will receive three hours of education.

The education consists of ▲ 1st period: Understanding social economy and exploring cases of social economy enterprises ▲ 2nd period: Online entrepreneurship simulation experience ▲ 3rd period: Identifying social issues through simulation and discovering business ideas.

Students will understand the background of the emergence of social enterprises and cultivate entrepreneurial spirit through basic decision-making for startups and collaboration among team members. Additionally, the entrepreneurship simulation will enhance their understanding of startups and provide an opportunity to think about their career paths.

To encourage active participation and improve educational outcomes, teams that develop excellent business ideas will be awarded certificates. One grand prize team and one excellence prize team per school, totaling 14 teams, will be awarded.

A representative from one participating school said, "Middle school is an important time for students to plan their careers," and expressed gratitude for providing opportunities to solve social problems and gain entrepreneurship experience through this education.
