Over 10 Million Early Votes Cast in April 10 General Election... Jeonnam and Jeonbuk Lead in Net Turnout Rate

The number of voters participating in the early voting for the April 10 general election to elect the 22nd National Assembly members has surpassed 10 million.

The National Election Commission announced that as of 1 p.m. on the second day of early voting for the 22nd general election, the turnout rate was calculated at 23.41%.


Out of a total of 44,280,011 eligible voters, 10,365,722 cast their votes during the early voting period that began at 6 a.m. the previous day.


This is 4.33 percentage points (p) higher than the early voting turnout rate at the same time during the 2020 21st general election (19.08%).


The region with the highest turnout so far is Jeonnam (32.96%), followed by Jeonbuk (30.24%), Gwangju (28.77%), and Sejong (26.59%).


The lowest turnout was recorded in Daegu at 18.79%, followed by Jeju (21.69%), Gyeonggi (21.71%), and Busan (22.13%). The turnout rates in the metropolitan area were 23.90% in Seoul and 22.31% in Incheon.


Early voting, which started at 6 a.m. on the 5th, will continue until 6 p.m. on the same day.


To participate in early voting, voters must bring an identification card and visit an early voting station.


A total of 3,565 early voting stations have been set up nationwide. The locations of the voting stations can be checked on the National Election Commission's website.
