Cheering for Artists Participating in the Integrated Contest Judging
On the 5th, Yoo In-chon, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, visited the rehearsal rooms of national art organizations to encourage young artists. Addressing those who participated in the integrated screening for young education members, he said, "I came not as the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, but as a senior artist to cheer you on," adding, "Seeing your relentless challenges and dedication toward your dreams warms my heart." He then promised, "We will spare no policy support to help you actively engage in the highest level of art."
The young education members program provides young performing artists with opportunities to experience the stages of national art organizations and receive professional practical training. It focuses on discovering the next generation of K-Culture leaders. Last December, Minister Yoo announced the 'Three Major Innovation Strategies for Culture and Arts,' pledging to more than triple the number of young education members in national art organizations this year. Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is expanding the program, which was previously operated only by some organizations such as the National Opera Company, to other national art organizations including the National Theater Company, National Ballet Company, National Symphony Orchestra, and National Gugak Center, increasing the number of education members from forty-five last year to 350.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on that day, ninety education members have already been selected. The integrated recruitment for the remaining 260 positions received 2,462 applications, showing a high competition ratio of 9.48:1. The final results of the screening, which will continue until the 6th, will be announced on the 9th through the website of the National Federation of Arts Organizations.
