Shinhan Financial signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Employment and Labor in September last year and is carrying out the ‘Shinhan Supports Youth’ project, which provides support for metropolitan area settlement expenses and study space usage fees to help low-income household youths prepare for employment.

At the meeting, Jin Ok-dong, Chairman of the Shinhan Financial Hope Foundation, and Lee Jeong-sik, Minister of Employment and Labor, listened to the impressions and difficulties of youths participating in the Shinhan Supports Youth project and took time to explore practical employment support measures and offer advice.

Additionally, Lee So-young, Director of Microsoft Korea, was invited as a speaker to give a special lecture on employment focusing on the type of talent companies seek and organizational culture.

The Minister said, “I am pleased to be able to communicate directly with youths who are striving for employment through this meeting,” adding, “The Ministry of Employment and Labor operates various employment training programs, including the National Tomorrow Learning Card, and will continue to actively support youths’ employment in cooperation with Shinhan Financial.”

Chairman Jin stated, “We will actively reflect the various difficulties faced by job-seeking youths encountered today in the Shinhan Supports Youth project,” and added, “Shinhan Financial will do its best to help youths with strong convictions and awareness to continue moving forward toward their dreams with a challenging spirit.”

Meanwhile, last month, the Shinhan Financial Hope Foundation recruited applicants for the 2024 Shinhan Supports Youth program, expanding the support targets not only to youths residing outside the metropolitan area but also to youths moving between non-metropolitan and metropolitan areas. Furthermore, the support period was extended from 3 months to 6 months to help create a stable job-seeking environment for youths.
