POSCO Inter to Host Global Export Consultation Meeting for Small and Medium Venture Businesses

POSCO International announced on the 4th that it will hold the '2024 Global Export Consultation Meeting' with the participation of about 60 small and venture companies from six local countries in Asia, Europe, and North America.

POSCO International (hereinafter POSCO Inter), as a global integrated business company, plans to contribute to strengthening national competitiveness by creating a virtuous industrial ecosystem together with promising small and venture companies. This year, it collaborated with a total of eight domestic external organizations and expanded both the number of participating companies and the scale of programs compared to last year.

In particular, the strategy is to help participating companies achieve tangible results by linking one-on-one visit meetings with prospective buyers met at the consultation meeting.

Since 2022, POSCO Inter has been operating the 'Go Global with POSCO INTERNATIONAL' support program together with the Korea International Trade Association. This program discovers promising domestic small and venture companies in the eco-friendly sector and supports their overseas market expansion.

In the export consultation meetings held in three rounds last year, participating companies held practical meetings with over 50 buyers and conducted more than 90 sessions, resulting in a total of 11 NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). POSCO Inter supported practical training for participating companies and one-on-one capability consulting, and helped discover promising small and venture companies and promote business items through a digital-based marketing collaboration platform.

POSCO Inter is also reviewing additional contributions to the win-win cooperation fund this year to alleviate the financial burden on small and venture companies. The cumulative fund contributed by POSCO International until last year reached 43.3 billion KRW. This fund has been executed with a total of 34.3 billion KRW in three areas: technology development and R&D, productivity improvement facility investment, and overseas market expansion, strengthening the competitiveness of 145 promising small and venture companies.

A POSCO Inter official said, "As a global leading integrated business company, we will continue to proactively consider and solve various social issues facing the country."
