Canola flowers imbued with the scent of spring are creating a spectacular scene at Homigot in Pohang.

Meet the Splendid Spring News from Canola and Cherry Blossoms in Pohang Homigot Canola Flower Field and Pohang City's Mascot Yeonoseo.

As of early April, the Homibando Landscape Agriculture Complex in Homigot is in full bloom with canola flowers at their peak, and it is expected that the fully blossomed canola flowers can be seen until mid-April.


The Homigot canola flower field, spanning over 100,000 pyeong (approximately 330,000 square meters) against the backdrop of the sea, is gaining popularity and attracting many tourists. Photo zones are set up throughout the area, allowing visitors to capture memories.


Various cherry blossom spots around Pohang are also providing sights with their fully bloomed pale pink cherry blossoms.


Cherry blossom spots in Pohang include ▲Pohang Cheolgilsup (Railroad Forest) ▲Hyogok-dong Yeongildae Pond ▲Changpo-dong Majangji ▲Oeosa Entrance Road ▲Cheongsongdae Trail ▲Hwanho Park ▲Yeongildae Beach, among others. The cherry blossoms, which began blooming at the end of last month, are expected to reach their peak around this coming weekend.


In March, the accommodation event “Cherry Blossom Travel to Pohang!” jointly held by Pohang City and Yanolja saw 3,400 coupons used up in just five days, reflecting the strong demand for Pohang travel among spring season tourists.


Since the 1st of this month, the city has resumed operation of the Pohang City Tour Bus, which includes Homigot, a famous canola flower spot. Additionally, a tourist taxi service operated by experienced local drivers is available, allowing visitors to comfortably travel desired courses, all efforts aimed at attracting spring tourists.


Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “With spring flowers in full bloom at various attractions in Pohang, I hope many tourists visit Pohang to create memories and return home,” adding, “We will strive to widely promote Pohang’s charm as a tourist city through active marketing.”
