Appointment of Outside Director
Yoon Ho-young, CEO of KakaoBank, has joined the board of directors of 'Grab,' the largest platform in Southeast Asia.
On the 1st, Grab appointed CEO Yoon Ho-young as a new outside director. Yoon will be responsible for the audit committee duties within Grab's board of directors.
Yoon's appointment as an outside director follows the business partnership established between KakaoBank and Grab in October last year. KakaoBank invested a 10% stake in Superbank, an Indonesian digital bank established by Grab. They are also collaborating in the planning process of deposit and loan products and services, jointly working on innovations in Superbank's user interface (UI), user experience (UX), as well as product and service planning.
Anthony Tan, co-founder and CEO of Grab, stated on the company's website regarding Yoon's board membership, "His extensive experience in digital financial services will enrich our strategic vision and strengthen growth and profitability."
A KakaoBank official said, "Yoon was recognized for his successful experience in the digital finance sector and was invited to join. We will strive to contribute to the new growth of Grab, a global IT company."
