Gyeonggawon Signs Semiconductor Industry Business Agreement with Korea Polytechnic University on the 3rd

The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency signed a semiconductor business agreement with Korea Polytechnic University.


On the 3rd, the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Office of the Semiconductor Convergence Campus at Korea Polytechnic University at the Southern Regional Center to resolve on-site technical difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the semiconductor field.


This agreement was prepared to address the issues faced by SMEs located in the semiconductor belt of the Gyeonggi region, including Suwon, Hwaseong, Pyeongtaek, Anseong, and Osan, which are struggling with securing research personnel and technology development due to a lack of industry-academic cooperation.


The main contents of the agreement include ▲joint business execution for venture, Inno-Biz, and innovative companies ▲industry-academic joint research and development, technical guidance ▲shared equipment activities and test analysis support ▲participation in central and local government policy projects ▲and other SME support projects.

Through this agreement, the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency will utilize the expertise of Korea Polytechnic University to support on-site clinics for semiconductor SMEs in the southern region, addressing management and technical difficulties faced by companies.


Korea Polytechnic University will conduct research using the facilities of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency and provide practical education to SME executives, employees, professors, and students, contributing to strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs in the province and revitalizing the local economy.


Jung Kwang-yong, Head of the Balanced Opportunity Headquarters at the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, stated, "Many SMEs are struggling to secure their own research and development and specialized research personnel," adding, "Through this agreement, we plan to strengthen industry-academic cooperation and comprehensively support manpower, technology, and equipment tailored to regional demands."
