West Sea Coast Guard Agency Hosts Tour and Experience for Students Dreaming of Becoming Future National Safety Guardians

Gwangju Women's University Department of Police Administration Students and Professors Understand the Roles and Duties of the Korea Coast Guard

The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency (Chief Kim In-chang) organized a field trip on the 2nd for students of the Department of Police Administration at Gwangju Women's University, who are nurturing their dreams of becoming police officers, providing them with an opportunity to learn about the roles and duties of the Coast Guard.

According to the West Sea Agency on the 3rd, about 40 students and professors from the Department of Police Administration at Gwangju Women's University watched promotional videos introducing Coast Guard duties, received explanations about recruitment plans for Coast Guard officers, and then had hands-on experiences with maritime simulation shooting, forensic equipment, and lie detectors.

They then visited the Mokpo Metropolitan VTS to experience vessel traffic control procedures and control equipment, enhancing their understanding of the roles and missions of the Coast Guard.

A student who participated in the experience said, "Seeing and experiencing firsthand the work performed by Coast Guard officers who protect the sea was a great opportunity to understand their duties and nurture my dream."

The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency plans to continue promoting field trip programs so that talented individuals who will lead the future Coast Guard can obtain diverse information and have indirect experiences.
