Chairman's Cup National Tournament Record-Breaking Performance
"Hoping to Train in Better Conditions"
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) received a donation of 15 million KRW to the sports team development fund from current students and alumni parents of the wrestling team.

The development fund delivery ceremony held at the Sports Hall of Fame in the College of Arts and Physical Education Building 1 on Seunghak Campus was attended by Woo Jin-hee, director of the sports team, Kim Ki-jung, wrestling team coach, wrestling team parents, sports team officials, and wrestling team athletes.
Kim Eun-young (mother of athlete Lee Min-hyuk), president of the wrestling team parents' association, and Lee Yoon-kyung (mother of athlete Chae Seung-hoon), general secretary, said, "We achieved record-breaking results at the recently held Chairman's National Wrestling Tournament," adding, "We are grateful for the guidance of the coach and trainers and donated to the development fund with the hope that the athletes can train in better environments."
Director Woo Jin-hee said, "The parents' heartfelt contributions are a great support to the school and athletes," and added, "The director, administrative departments, and coaches will all work together to properly guide and support the athletes."
The Dong-A University wrestling team participated in 8 out of 10 weight categories at the '42nd Chairman's National Wrestling Tournament' held from the 15th to the 21st of last month in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, winning 7 gold medals and 2 bronze medals to claim the overall championship. This marks their fourth consecutive victory since the 39th tournament in 2021.
Founded in 1963, the Dong-A University wrestling team is a prestigious program that has produced notable athletes such as Yang Jeong-mo, the gold medalist at the 1976 Montreal Olympics and South Korea's first Olympic gold medalist; Son Gap-do, bronze medalist at the 1984 LA Olympics; and Kim Young-gu and Lee Sam-seong, gold medalists at the 1986 Asian Games.
