On the 3rd, Gyeryong City in Chungnam announced the appointment of Jeong Seok-wan, former president of Chungcheongnam-do Development Corporation, as a special policy advisor.
Advisor Jeong, recognized as the top expert in Chungnam Province in the fields of urban planning, architecture, and transportation, will serve as an unpaid honorary position for a two-year term, providing consultation in the areas of powerful defense city (defense/military, urban planning, architecture, and transportation).
The city established the ‘Gyeryong City Special Policy Advisor Operation Regulation’ in March and appointed Advisor Jeong to operate city administration in a professional and systematic manner.
Additionally, the city plans to set policy directions for major priority projects aimed at completing the three future visions of a powerful defense city, a smart rural city, and a wellness happiness city.
The city also plans to appoint additional private experts with abundant knowledge and experience as special policy advisors.
Special Advisor Jeong Seok-wan stated, “Gyeryong is a city with abundant growth potential and a future that looks brighter than today. I will spare no effort to ensure that my experience contributes to the development of Gyeryong City.”
Mayor Lee Eung-woo said, “We expect Special Policy Advisor Jeong Seok-wan to play a pivotal role in completing the defense capital based on his career and expertise. We will do our best to improve the quality of life for citizens through professional and systematic administration by involving a wider range of experts in the policy process.”
Meanwhile, Special Policy Advisor Jeong previously served as president of Chungcheongnam-do Development Corporation, director of the Disaster Safety Office of Chungcheongnam-do, and director of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Bureau.
