Han Jong-hee, Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics (Head of DX Division), once again emphasized the formula 'AI Appliances = Samsung.' This seems to ignite a war of nerves with LG Electronics over 'who is the pioneer of AI appliances.' Vice Chairman Han announced that this year’s Bespoke new product lineup will support personalized optimal lifestyles through AI.

On the 3rd, Samsung Electronics held a new product launch media day, "Welcome to BESPOKE AI," at the Samsung Electronics Seocho Building in Seocho-gu, Seoul, showcasing new products and services upgraded in connectivity and usability based on AI.

This year’s features include an evolved AI function and a large touchscreen-based 'AI Home,' and voice recognition 'Bixby,' allowing remote control of all connected devices in the home, freeing users from installation space and control method constraints for more convenient use. Through AI Home, users can receive mobile calls and enjoy videos and music.

Vice Chairman Han said, "Samsung Electronics is introducing a wide range of products with significantly enhanced AI capabilities," adding, "Now, we will complete the vision of 'AI for All' through various smart home devices frequently used by consumers at home."

Samsung Electronics unveiled 15 AI products that day. Notable products include the 'Bespoke AI Hybrid' refrigerator, which optimizes power consumption with AI, and the 'Bespoke AI Steam' robot vacuum cleaner, which has evolved AI capabilities for floor, object, and space recognition.

The 2024 model 'Bespoke AI Hybrid' refrigerator is equipped with Samsung’s patented next-generation high-efficiency compressor as well as a Peltier element, allowing two types of power sources to operate independently or in combination according to the situation, automatically adjusting the cooling method. The new product’s energy consumption efficiency is 30% higher than the highest domestic grade 1 minimum standard.

The 'Bespoke AI Steam' robot vacuum cleaner is a dual-purpose product that performs both dust suction and mopping. Based on an AI DNN (Deep Neural Network) model trained with 1.7 million object data, it uses a front camera sensor to recognize and avoid various objects. Notably, the number of recognizable categories has greatly increased compared to previous models, enabling it to detect thin mobile phone cables and mats.

Samsung Electronics is also introducing a function that optimally manages products by selecting time periods with lower carbon emissions based on carbon intensity, which refers to the amount of carbon dioxide generated during power production. This 'optimal charging function' will first be applied to robot vacuum cleaners that require constant charging and will be expanded to other product categories in the future.

Vice Chairman Han said, "Samsung Bespoke AI will strive to provide the best experience safely and comfortably for consumers of all ages and environments," adding, "Furthermore, we will continuously develop and apply next-generation sustainable technologies that reduce environmental burdens."
