Socar "The Most Visited Place by Users in April is 'Gyeongsangbuk-do'"

Over the past two years, Socar users have most frequently visited Gyeongsangbuk-do as a travel destination in April.

Using the parking data analysis platform 'Sofia,' Socar announced on the 3rd that an analysis of the most visited regions in April over the past two years showed that about 6% of all reservations involved car sharing for an average of more than 46 hours to visit Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Socar extracted data based on the locations of vehicles that were parked with the engine off for more than one hour during trips lasting over four hours within the period. Among areas in Gyeongsangbuk-do, the most visited places were Gyeongju, Pohang, Gumi, Gyeongsan, and Andong, in that order.

Additionally, examining the initial entry routes revealed that about 45% of all reservations involved renting a Socar vehicle in other regions and traveling to Gyeongsangbuk-do. Departure points included Seoul, Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeonggi. The proportion of vehicles reserved at Socar zones near KTX stations was 27%, indicating frequent cases where users first traveled by other transportation means and then moved within the region via nearby Socar zones. The age distribution of visiting customers was 48.8% in their 20s, 28% in their 30s, and 23.2% aged 40 and above.

To verify Socar members' combined use of accommodation and car sharing in Gyeongsangbuk-do, data was extracted for vehicles parked for six hours or more, including midnight, within 250 meters of accommodations in the visited areas. As a result, 38% of all visiting customers were found to use car sharing together with accommodations such as hotels, pensions, and resorts located in Gyeongju, Pohang, and other areas, staying an average of two nights or more.
