Gangnam-gu Achieves $7.84 Million Export Consultation Results... Supported 8 Companies to Participate in the World's Top Beauty Expo 'Bologna Cosmoprof' from 21st to 23rd Last Month
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong), in collaboration with the Korea International Trade Association, participated in the 'Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna' beauty expo held in Bologna, Italy from March 21 to 23, achieving export consultation results worth 7.84 million USD.
The Bologna beauty expo is one of the world's top three beauty exhibitions alongside Cosmoprof in Hong Kong and Las Vegas, and is considered the original among them. Celebrating its 55th edition this year, the historic expo hosted 3,012 companies from 69 countries and attracted 248,500 visitors from 150 countries.
Gangnam-gu ranks second among local governments nationwide in cosmetics export volume and supports participation in world-class beauty exhibitions to promote the development and export expansion of local cosmetics companies.
At this expo, partial costs for booth rental, installation, transportation, and marketing were supported.
Eight companies participated in the Gangnam-gu joint pavilion: ▲Platinum Bridge (Equalib) ▲Haim International (Eloquence) ▲Cheongdam CDC&P (Dancing Whale) ▲The Skin Company (Dr. DYK) ▲Cubist (Face Factory) ▲Sosan Pacific (Picasso) ▲Lara Clara (Lara Clara) ▲Be The Skin (Be The Skin). Over two days, 233 consultations were held, resulting in 7.84 million USD in consultation achievements. Among these, contracts worth 2.64 million USD are being pursued, and MOUs for export contracts were signed with two cosmetics companies from Norway and Serbia.
The district plans to build on the success in Bologna by supporting participation in this year's Shanghai beauty expo and Cosmoprof in Las Vegas to elevate the status of Gangnam beauty.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "Cosmetics are the product category with the highest export contribution from small and medium enterprises. We will continue to spare no effort in supporting excellent companies in Gangnam, the center of K-beauty, to expand into the global market and achieve further growth."
