Announcement of 7 Successful Candidates in June After Document Review and Interview
Tuition, Living Expenses, and Research Funds Totaling $120,000 Per Person

Taekwang Group Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation announced on the 3rd that it will select the '32nd Overseas Doctoral Scholarship Students for the 2024 Academic Year,' providing tuition and living expenses support to students entering doctoral programs at overseas graduate schools.


Students selected for this program will receive a scholarship of $120,000 USD (approximately 160 million KRW) per person, regardless of the country of study. The scholarship can be freely used for tuition, living expenses, research costs, and more. Benefits can be received for up to 8 semesters within 5 years. Airfare for departure to enroll and return after graduation is also supported up to 2 million KRW per trip.


Any new student who has been admitted to a master's and doctoral integrated program or a doctoral program at a prestigious overseas graduate school can apply. The number of selected students is around 7.


Applications can be submitted online on the Ilju Foundation website from today until the 23rd. The Ilju Foundation plans to announce successful candidates in June after first and second document screenings and interviews.

Scholarship students also receive support for various networking activities. They can attend academic and research meetings held twice a year by the Ilju Foundation for alumni and participate in year-end gatherings for alumni exchange. The foundation supports local exchange meetings for overseas students to encourage active communication among scholarship recipients.


Lee Woo-jin, Chairman of the Ilju Foundation, said, "We will continue to support scholarship students so they can focus on their studies and research without financial difficulties," adding, "We will pay the full promised scholarship amount without any deductions for teaching assistant (TA) or research assistant (RA) activities."


The Ilju Foundation, established on July 19, 1990, is a scholarship foundation of Taekwang Group. It was founded by Ilju (一洲) Lee Im-yong, the founder of Taekwang Group, who donated his private assets. The foundation has been carrying out public interest projects in scholarships, academic support, and cultural and artistic activities for 34 years. The total number of scholarship recipients is 214.
