Up to 30 Million KRW Support for Opening 5 or More Parking Spaces in Attached Parking Lots... Small-Scale Buildings Also Eligible
Currently, 22 Attached Parking Lots with 413 Spaces Sharing Idle Spaces to Alleviate Parking Shortage... Goal to Secure Over 440 Spaces This Year
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is actively promoting the 'Attached Parking Lot Opening and Sharing Project' to alleviate the increasingly severe parking shortage in the era of one-person one-mobility.
The Attached Parking Lot Opening and Sharing Project is a program that opens the idle spaces of attached parking lots in ▲large buildings ▲religious facilities ▲companies ▲schools, etc., to residents.
Building owners can designate and share available opening hours such as ▲daytime ▲nighttime ▲all day, and users can use the parking lots at affordable rates during those times, making it an efficient solution to the recent shortage of parking spaces.
Last year, the district secured 56 new parking spaces in 5 attached parking lots including ▲apartments ▲churches. As a result, a total of 22 attached parking lots with 413 spaces are currently in operation within the area.
This year, the goal is to secure a total of more than 440 parking spaces by providing benefits to local community centers when discovering private resources and actively finding parking spaces utilizing leftover land.
Eligible participants are facilities that can open 5 or more parking spaces for at least 2 years, and small-scale buildings that can open 3 or more spaces can also apply.
The district offers various benefits to participants, including ▲facility improvement cost support ▲parking lot liability insurance premium support ▲traffic inducement charge reduction.
Facility improvement costs are supported up to 30 million KRW for 'all-day opening,' up to 25 million KRW for 'daytime or nighttime opening,' and up to 2 million KRW per space for small-scale buildings. Newly constructed buildings that do not require facility improvements can receive up to 30 million KRW in operational revenue compensation. However, facility improvement costs are limited to ▲installation of security facilities such as outdoor security lights and CCTV within the parking lot ▲facility repairs such as parking space painting and asphalt paving ▲installation of guide signs or signboards.
Additionally, for shared parking lots with a total of 30 or more parking spaces, if a family-friendly parking lot is installed, painting costs for parking spaces are supported up to 350,000 KRW per space, providing various benefits to building owners actively participating in alleviating parking shortages.
Along with this, the district plans to promote the project by displaying information about open parking lots on the district office website so that residents can easily find and use parking lots.
District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “We will continue to actively promote the parking lot opening and sharing project to alleviate parking shortages and enhance residents' convenience,” and added, “We hope many building owners with idle spaces in attached parking lots will participate so that residents can enjoy the value of sharing.”
