KENTECH (Korea Energy Technology University) announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation in research and education with the globally renowned Olin College of Engineering in the United States on the 18th of last month.
This agreement was initiated following a visit by KENTECH leadership to Olin College of Engineering, located near Boston, last December to discuss mutual interests and opportunities for collaboration. The MOU was signed online by Jin-ho Park, Acting President of KENTECH, and AI Sacco, Vice President of Olin College.
Olin College is a small private four-year undergraduate engineering college admitting about 100 students annually. It was ranked 2nd in the 2023 US News & World Report undergraduate college rankings. Founded in 1997, Olin College emphasizes experiential learning through hands-on practice and project-based education, building a global reputation with its innovative and creative educational model. By focusing on teaching ways to collaborate across disciplinary boundaries, Olin College educates students to become leaders capable of solving complex real-world problems.
Through this agreement, the two universities plan to cooperate in areas including ▲ joint research, joint meetings, workshops, symposiums, seminars, and other mutual interest collaborations ▲ exploring research opportunities for faculty and students ▲ seeking student exchange cooperation to promote mutual exchange ▲ joint publication of academic materials ▲ and other exchange and cooperation activities as agreed upon by both institutions.
Jin-ho Park, Acting President of KENTECH, stated, "We are pleased to advance our cooperative relationship with Olin College through this agreement. We look forward to formalizing productive collaborative activities with Olin College and creating new opportunities to strengthen cooperation in education, research, and other areas pursued by both institutions for their mutual development."
