On the 30th, employees from the Hwaseong Department of Gwangyang Steelworks visited Dochon Village, a sister village located in Taein-dong, Gwangyang City, and personally helped transport fertilizer for local elders who were struggling due to the fields being located in the mountains.
In addition to carrying fertilizer, volunteers also carried out environmental cleanup activities around the village hall to help the elders enjoy their rest time in a more comfortable environment.
On the 31st, the Friends Talent Volunteer Group, composed of employees from the Production Technology Department of Gwangyang Steelworks and their families, undertook environmental cleanup and weeding activities around the sports park located in Geumseong-myeon, Hadong County, to welcome spring visitors.
Furthermore, on the 29th and 30th, Gwangyang Steelworks held performances of the highly popular Daehangno play "Beautiful Life" at Baegun Art Hall in Geumho-dong, Gwangyang City, offering a gentle emotional experience to local residents.
On the founding anniversary day itself, the warm wave of sharing continued. The Gwangyang Steelworks Soul Saxophone Volunteer Group performed saxophone busking on the outdoor stage at Baegun Greenland in Geumho-dong for visitors enjoying the cherry blossoms.
Additionally, the Gwangyang Steelworks Areumdri Sharing Food Talent Volunteer Group cleaned windows, stairs, restrooms, and the interior of the Aroma Home Care Senior Welfare Center in Jungma-dong, while the Balrocha Volunteer Group delivered lunch boxes to users of the Sunlight Village Daycare Center in Geumho-dong. Volunteer activities by Gwangyang Steelworks employees in celebration of the founding anniversary continued throughout the Gwangyang area.
A citizen who watched the play Beautiful Life said, “The way the small misunderstandings and conflicts that can arise while living as a couple are resolved was very similar to how my spouse and I handle things, so it resonated deeply,” adding, “I am grateful to POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks for presenting our family with such a heartwarming performance.”
