Starting this year, the Munhwa Nuri Card provides support with an increased amount of 130,000 KRW, up from the previous 110,000 KRW. Eligible recipients are basic livelihood security recipients or near-poverty groups aged 6 and above (born on or before December 31, 2018).

Eligible individuals can visit their nearest eup/myeon administrative welfare center by November 30 or apply online through the official website or the Munhwa Nuri mobile app to receive the card. Existing Munhwa Nuri Card holders will have the increased amount automatically loaded onto their cards.

The card can be used at all registered affiliated stores nationwide, including cultural arts sectors such as movies, exhibitions, performances, cultural experiences, and books, as well as sports facilities, sports equipment, intercity buses and railways, travel agencies, tourist attractions, accommodations, and hot springs in the sports and tourism sectors.

The list of affiliated stores can be checked on the Munhwa Nuri Card website, and inquiries about balance or other matters can be made through the Munhwa Nuri Card Customer Support Center.

Local businesses wishing to register as affiliated stores can download the application form from the Munhwa Nuri Card website, fill it out, and submit it online along with the required documents by following the affiliated store registration guidelines.

However, fraudulent use such as using the card of a deceased person, third-party usage, purchasing non-permitted products, or receiving cash back after payment may result in penalties, so both affiliated stores and users should exercise caution. Any unused balance by the end of the year will be automatically forfeited.

For more detailed information about the Munhwa Nuri Card, please contact the Culture and Tourism Division’s Cultural Arts Team or the relevant eup/myeon administrative welfare center.
