In particular, marking the fourth year since its designation as a women-friendly city, the district is promoting 49 tasks with the participation of 23 departments to create a 'Namdong-gu-style women-friendly city.'
The main projects include ▲ creating safe villages and safe return paths ▲ reflecting women-friendly public facility guidelines when installing new public restrooms (securing the number of toilets for women, attaching non-slip tiles, installing infant booster seats, installing safety screens, etc.) ▲ selecting and supporting pilot gender equality daycare centers ▲ developing programs for women entrepreneurs through the Youth Startup Support Center ▲ training office workers to support career-interrupted women in pharmacies and dental clinics ▲ expanding care facilities by establishing the 8th Dahamkke Care Center, among others.
Through this, the district aims to build on the foundation of women-friendly cities established in the first and second years, increase public-private cooperation activities in the third year, and this year, further strengthen the governance for promoting gender equality policies that have been established and enhance external promotional activities. Namdong-gu was also selected as an excellent local government in the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family's implementation inspection last year.
Park Jong-hyo, Mayor of Namdong-gu, said, "As the women-friendly city creation activities that started in 2021 enter their fourth year, we will do our best to promote policies that resonate with local residents so that the value of gender equality can take root."
