LG Electronics will launch an 'All-in-One Robot Vacuum Cleaner' this month that can perform both dust suction and wet mop cleaning. The company aims to change the market landscape by solving customers' chronic inconvenience of 'odor.'

According to the home appliance industry on the 2nd, LG Electronics will introduce the All-in-One Robot Vacuum Cleaner to the market within this month. LG Electronics considers the resolution of the odor issue as the key feature of the new product. Although a latecomer, the company believes it can shake up the market with the All-in-One Robot Vacuum Cleaner.

LG Electronics identified that customers of All-in-One Robot Vacuum Cleaners had experienced discomfort due to mop odors. Even products that wash and dry the mop at the robot vacuum station inevitably develop odors after a certain period.

LG Electronics developed a dedicated cleaning solution in-house and applied it to the new product. Existing All-in-One Robot Vacuum Cleaners only enhanced cleaning performance by adding floor cleaning agents to the water used to wet the mop. There was no dedicated cleaning solution for mop washing.

The LG All-in-One Robot Vacuum Cleaner prevents unpleasant odors by washing and drying the mop using the dedicated cleaning solution. The solution is automatically dispensed when the mop is washed.

The new product is known to be equipped with LDS (Laser Distance Sensor) and RGB cameras, implementing smart autonomous driving and artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The robot vacuum intelligently recognizes and avoids obstacles while cleaning. It also increases suction power when it detects that a carpet is laid on the floor.

The domestic robot vacuum cleaner market is fiercely competitive with Chinese products and numerous domestic brands. Recently, Chinese companies leading with All-in-One Robot Vacuum Cleaners that perform both dust suction and rotating wet mop cleaning have been gaining prominence.
