"Take the KTX to visit the 'Hampyeong Butterfly Festival'!"
Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 1st that during the 26th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, held for 11 days from April 26 to May 6, the KTX will make six temporary stops at Hampyeong Station, with three round trips per day.
According to the county, during the festival period, the KTX will temporarily operate between Yongsan and Hampyeong. There will be a total of six trains per day, three in each direction. The southbound trains will run at 6:28 AM, 7:46 AM, and 8:19 AM, while the northbound trains will run at 4:08 PM, 5:12 PM, and 6:15 PM.
This temporary KTX stop at Hampyeong Station was arranged by Korail to provide convenience for tourists from the Seoul metropolitan area and Chungcheong region visiting the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival.
Korail Gwangju Travel Center will sell a 1-night, 2-day package starting in April called "Let's Go See the 2024 Hampyeong Butterfly Festival," which departs from Yongsan Station, arrives at Gwangju Songjeong Station, and includes visits to the butterfly festival site and Hampyeong tourist attractions.
This year’s Hampyeong Butterfly Festival will be held at Hampyeong Expo Park, featuring diverse programs such as hands-on experiences, exhibitions, cultural and artistic events, and a fantastic journey with butterflies.
A county official stated, "We hope many people will use the service, as we are providing various incentives such as shuttle buses between Hampyeong Station and the festival site and discounts on Hampyeong Butterfly Festival admission tickets for KTX passengers."
