Porsche Driver Who Rushed Onto Sidewalk Surrenders One Day After Fleeing

The Northern Police Station of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 1st that they have booked Mr. A (late 20s) on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (failure to take action after an accident).

Mr. A is suspected of driving a Porsche vehicle on a road in Sinan-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 10 a.m. on the 28th of last month, rushing onto the sidewalk, hitting a utility pole, and then fleeing the scene.

Mr. A surrendered to the police a day after the accident and is reported to have stated that "he was scared and ran away because it was his first accident.

The police detected signs that Mr. A was driving with a hangover, but since it is necessary to confirm the blood alcohol concentration to charge him with drunk driving, they only applied the charge of 'failure to take action after an accident.' After accurately determining the details of the incident, they will decide on the course of action regarding Mr. A's custody.
