Jeong Hwang-geun and Shin Jin-young Preliminary Candidates Join 'One Team'
On the 1st, Shin Beom-cheol, the People Power Party candidate for Cheonan Gap, Lee Jeong-man for Cheonan E, and Lee Chang-soo for Cheonan Byeong held a press conference at the Cheonan City Hall briefing room with Jeong Hwang-geun, former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock, and Shin Jin-young, former presidential office administrator, and united their efforts to form a single front for the 22nd general election.
Candidates from the People Power Party running in the Cheonan area for the 22nd general election, along with the preliminary candidates who competed in the party primaries, have declared a one team.
On the 1st, Shin Beom-cheol of Cheonan Gap, Lee Jeong-man of Cheonan Eul, and Lee Chang-soo of Cheonan Byeong from the People Power Party held a press conference at the Cheonan City Hall briefing room with former Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Jeong Hwang-geun and former Presidential Office administrator Shin Jin-young, announcing that they will form a unified front for the 22nd general election.
Former Minister Jeong Hwang-geun stated, "I ran with the determination to pour the capabilities I have built up into the development of my hometown, but I was unable to fulfill that intention. As the official election period begins, I have reached the conclusion that this goal can be achieved through the election of the three People Power Party candidates."
He added, "Although the People Power Party has many shortcomings, compared to the behavior of the opposition party, there is ample room for improvement. I earnestly ask you to vote for the three candidates to achieve the development of Cheonan, normalize the National Assembly, and help the government work in the right direction for the people."
Former Presidential Office administrator Shin Jin-young said, "There has never been a case where People Power Party candidates in Cheonan formed a one team including those who lost, but the reason we stand here today is because this election is a crucial one that will determine the future of the Republic of Korea. Since this election is extremely important for the success of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, as a losing candidate, I could not help but join forces."
He continued, "In the 21st general election, the Democratic Party of Korea took all three seats in Cheonan, but one is currently on trial for a sexual misconduct case, another, who was a close aide to the party leader, is now on trial for violating the Farmland Act, and the other has been so invisible for four years that citizens do not know what was accomplished. The 22nd general election is a time for Cheonan citizens to give People Power Party candidates a fair chance to work," he emphasized.
Shin Beom-cheol, candidate for Cheonan Gap, said, "I am grateful to former Minister Jeong Hwang-geun and administrator Shin Jin-young for showing great politics. I will take their big hearts and definitely win in the general election."
Lee Chang-soo, candidate for Cheonan Byeong, said, "I deeply understand what it feels like to have to temporarily step back despite having a great intention to dedicate and serve the country and the region. The three candidates running in the main election carry this weight and gravity and will definitely win to ease the burden on these individuals’ hearts even a little," he stressed.
