Ye Kyung-tak, President of BNK Gyeongnam Bank, announced that he will strive to practice regional coexistence on the occasion of his first anniversary in office.
President Ye said, "It has been a year of focusing on changes and innovations both internally and externally under the management philosophy of being a 'bank that greatly supports the regional economic ecosystem'." He added, "Internally, we strengthened the organization's capabilities to prepare for the rapidly changing financial environment, and externally, we showed sincere affection for the local community by practicing the values of 'regional coexistence' and 'warm finance,' while also working hard to secure new growth engines such as expanding the sales base in the metropolitan area."
For example, he explained that the bank actively supported small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), providing 91% (24.8 trillion KRW) of total corporate loans to SMEs. The bank also plans to support a guarantee limit of 250 billion KRW for promising future industries and export companies through business agreements with the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation. In cooperation with local governments, the bank is also engaged in nurturing regional startups and supporting small business owners.
These efforts have led to achievements such as receiving the highest comprehensive rating for the 'Community Reinvestment Act' evaluation for three consecutive years (four consecutive years for the Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions), re-selection as the primary depository bank for Ulsan City, and winning the Financial Supervisory Service's 'Inclusive Finance Meritorious Institution Award' in the SME support category.
Additionally, efforts are being made to secure new growth engines. The bank is simultaneously strengthening its sales base in the metropolitan area and its competitiveness in regional corporate finance while reorganizing its asset portfolio. It is also accelerating the creation of organizational culture, enhancing competitiveness in non-face-to-face retail finance, and advancing digital transformation.
Based on this solid management, BNK Gyeongnam Bank has spent the past year faithfully fulfilling President Ye’s promise to play a central role in the regional economic ecosystem.
