Cheonan-si Begins Work for 15 Youth Interns in the First Half of the Year

Cheonan City, Chungnam Province, announced on the 1st that it has selected 15 youth interns for the first half of this year and has begun full-scale operations.

The youth internship program supports unemployed young people to gain job experience and build careers so that they can be hired as regular employees. Participants receive a basic monthly wage of 2,061,000 KRW per person for up to three months. Additionally, one-on-one mentoring with the person in charge of the relevant job within the company is provided to help young workers adapt to the workplace during their employment period.

The youth interns for the first half of the year will work at excellent local companies in fields such as secondary batteries, semiconductor equipment and parts manufacturing, and semiconductor automotive equipment.

The city plans to recruit additional youth interns in the second half of the year, supporting a total of 70 young people this year.

Mayor Park Sang-don said, “We will continue to strengthen cooperation with excellent companies to actively support young people’s career exploration and development. Furthermore, we will strive to ensure that youth interns are hired as regular employees and settle in the region.”

Meanwhile, through this program last year, the city supported 46 people, with 24 securing employment.
