Geochang-gun Wins Excellence Award in Gyeongnam Province Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation

Governor's Commendation and Securing 100 Million KRW in Project Funding

Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, received the Excellence Award in the 2024 Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation hosted by Gyeongnam Province, securing a prize money of 100 million KRW along with the Governor's Commendation.

This evaluation reviewed the overall local tax administration efforts of 18 cities and counties in Gyeongsangnam-do over the past year, based on the performance in 21 items across 7 categories.

Geochang-gun received high marks in various areas, including ranking first in the province for the collection rate of carried-over arrears, winning the grand prize at the Local Tax Development Forum research project presentation contest, and being selected as an excellent institution in the evaluation of local non-tax revenue management performance.

Gu In-mo, the county governor, stated, “Achieving these results despite the challenging revenue environment was possible thanks to the residents who faithfully paid their local taxes,” adding, “We will continue to develop taxpayer convenience policies that prioritize residents and strive for fair and rational tax administration.”
