Sinan-gun Aphae-eup, Ajangajang Sewing Club Donates 3 Million Won Scholarship Fund

Members Unite to Send Love to Hometown Juniors

Executives and members of Ajangajang Jaebong Sewing Club (President: Lee Gomae) in Aphae-eup, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, visited Aphae Middle School on the 29th of last month and announced on the 1st that they had donated a scholarship of 3 million won to their hometown juniors as a field trip expense.


The scholarship fund delivered this time was the profit from selling eco-bags made by utilizing discarded banners, using sewing skills learned through the resident autonomy program of Ajangajang Jaebong Sewing Club.

In addition, they made scarves from baby camellia fabric symbolizing Aphae-eup and donated 300 scarves at the 2023 Kimchi Making Event hosted by the Aphae-eup Women's Association, 1,400 scarves at the 2023 Senior Citizens' Day event, and 800 scarves at the 2024 Dialogue with Residents event, giving them to local residents.


President Lee Gomae said, “I am happy to be able to donate the sewing skills learned and practiced with the support of Sinan-gun to the community, and I will continue to engage in activities that help the region together with the members.”


Yang Young-geun, mayor of Aphae-eup, expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am truly thankful that the members, despite being busy with farming, took the time to learn skills through the resident autonomy program and donated the precious amount earned from those skills to their hometown juniors.”
