S-Oil 'Firefighting Hero Keeper Campaign' KBS 119 Award for Volunteer Service

15 Billion KRW Supported for 136 Firefighters Since 2006

S-Oil announced on the 1st that it received the Volunteer Award at the 29th KBS 119 Awards ceremony. The Volunteer Award, one of the categories of the KBS 119 Awards, is given to civilians or organizations that have contributed to firefighting activities such as rescue and emergency medical services.

Since 2006, S-Oil has been running the Firefighting Hero Keeper campaign, implementing various support programs for firefighters and their families who protect the safety and lives of South Korea. These include ▲ Firefighting Hero of the Year Award ▲ Consolation money for bereaved families of fallen firefighters ▲ Scholarships for children of fallen firefighters ▲ Medical expenses for injured firefighters ▲ Rest camps for firefighter couples, among others.

The Firefighting Hero of the Year Award is an activity that selects and honors the top hero and heroic firefighters annually based on their firefighting activities throughout the year. S-Oil has provided prize money to the selected heroes and their affiliated fire stations, paying a total of 1.52 billion KRW to 136 firefighters since 2006.

S-Oil has also supported the lives of firefighters' families by providing consolation money to bereaved families in the event of a firefighter's death in the line of duty, delivering a total of 2.1 billion KRW to the families of 70 fallen firefighters since 2006. To support the continuous education of their children, scholarships have been provided, with a total of 4.5 billion KRW awarded to 1,539 children since 2006.

S-Oil has consistently supported medical expenses for injured firefighters. Since 2009, it has provided encouragement money annually to about 30 firefighters injured during firefighting activities, helping them recover their daily lives. To date, medical expenses totaling 840 million KRW have been delivered to 436 firefighters.
